During 2011 BlackRock will host a series of free training seminars aimed at new and experienced trustees covering basics on investments..
BlackRock’s Trustee training seminars are designed to equip trustees with the knowledge and tools they need to be able to understand and participate fully in funding and investment discussions. Our training caters to trustees with varied levels of knowledge from basic to advanced.
Teaching Method
Training sessions include presentations of theory and fundamental principles as well as interactive elements, where we encourage debate and discussion and discuss relevant case studies to help you to apply your knowledge. Trustees can also log on and follow the training session from the comfort of their desk.
Accreditation
The Pensions Management Institute (PMI) have developed a new 'Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit system, designed to encourage members to identify personal and specific training needs, and actively undertake CPD to address these needs.
A credit framework is provided by The PMI, however it is down to the individual to decide which category a ‘CPD activity’ falls into and how many credits (up to the maximum stated in the framework) they attribute to each, based on its effectiveness in meeting their individual development needs.
Each BlackRock training seminar can attract up to 25 PMI CPD credits. Members must input their own CPD credits into the new online system.
Our trustee training seminars were previously accredited by PMI between 2005 and 2008.
